Project Summary

Students will engage with community employers through a segment called “Figure It Out Friday”, where employers will be invited in every other Friday to teach a valuable life skill related to their profession.

Entry Event

Adulting Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHNNL6QxJtc

Life Skills Discussion - What will you have to know how to do once you graduate high school and become independent? What things do your parents/guardians do that you have no idea how to do?

Brainstorm Worksheet

* It is recommended to brainstorm skills and employers at least a month before inviting your first guest in. For example, do the entry event for this PBL in early September and plan your first Figure It Out Friday for mid October to give your employers time to add it to their schedules.

Project-Based Learning is a developmental process, and as we collectively learn and perfect our practice, our quality of projects will improve.  We encourage you to make the projects your own, and as you do, in the comment section on each project page, leave notes identifying the modifications and changes you made to fit the needs of your classroom.  Feel free to email us at pbl.jag@gmail.com if you have attachments, revisions, or modifications you would like to have uploaded to the library.
